What Makes a Leader?

A leader isn't just someone who has their name on a door and an office with a window view. They aren't even someone who is in charge of other employees. A leader is something else, someone who can motivate a team, communicate the end goal, and mitigate the issues of the day with calm determination. This article by Daniel Goleman explains some of the qualities of a leader. Namely, he begins by expressing the importance of emotional intelligence from a leader, and how that affects their abilities in the role.
