The 2013 CIO Playbook: How to Stop Overspending

Overspending is a problem that every organization would like to avoid.  Jeff Muscarella lists eight pieces of advice on how to avoid this problem.  His tips include stop overbuying and overpaying for support, knowing what incentives your reseller is getting, and gaining internal alignment before you buy (or renew).  Muscarella wants the leader to finish this article with a greater sense of how CIOs get the best deals and the best return on their investment.  He reminds us that every dollar that is saved from wasteful spending can contribute to greater innovation.
