Skills for the CIO Class of 2015

What skills will the CIO of the (near) future need? According to Martha Heller of, it's a mix of foundational IT skill and expanded business acumen. In particular the CIO class of 2015 needs to have vendor management experience, a good understanding of development lifecycles and PMOs, as well as perhaps some consulting experience. Heller also provides some “no brainer” skills that make new CIOs the most desirable to hire, including Industry and geographic diversity and talent-supply-chain management.
