Leading From the Front Lines

You don’t have to go to war to learn some key lessons from the front lines. This article by Justin Moore reflects a few of the lessons he’s picked up as a lover of military history. For example, true leaders don’t become leaders because they want to be; they become leaders because they have the qualities and mindset of leadership. It’s important for leaders (in combat and in the boardroom) to embody the character they actually possess — not the qualities that they think they should. Another lesson: actually get into the trenches. Your staff won’t trust and respect you if all of your time is spent in your own office.
