Know the Unknown!

Projects are filled with unknown variables – it’s a fact of IT project management.  These unknowns, however, significantly impact project hour estimates, especially when you need to determine how long it will take you to complete work.  Padding – or adding hours “just in case”, undermines sound project management. Andrea Brockmeier illustrates the negative effects of basing project hours on the unknowns, as well as the ways you can better address them in project hour planning.
