Do You Really Want More Meetings

Meetings are not anyone’s favorite part of corporate life.  Ian Altman suggests in his article that sometimes meetings just are not necessary.  Altman believes meetings should have a well-defined purpose.  Therefore, if you are having a meeting purely for the sake of having it, you probably should have the meeting at all.  Some may feel that meetings give them a competitive edge, but it is important to remember that competitors are thinking the same way.  Altman gives a few bits of advice as to how to choose between needing and not needing a meeting as well as how to make a meeting run successfully when it is necessary.
