Rob Pringle had an interesting set of projects with GM&T: roll out a global SAP system, upgrade a gas trading platform, and build the system to integrate the two together. What makes this set of projects unique is that they were all done within one month. According to This interview done by Bill Goodwin of Computer Weekly, that's business as usual for Pringle. The dynamic environment of GM&T allows IT to be much more agile than in other companies, something that Pringle uses to his advantage every chance he gets. There are challenges however, as Pringle explains in the article: “The challenges are consistent. Keeping up with the growth of our business, and its every demanding requirements, and keeping the structural IT costs low. There is a natural tension between those two things,” he says.Despite the tension, Pringle and the IT organization are able to stay flexible while still maintaining a rigid base for best practices and processes.
